TeamSports4All Round and Special Raffle

This week we celebrate the TeamSports4All Socks Round where a number of our teams will wear designated socks in support of the cause. TeamSports4All do a wonderful job supporting less fortunate families with registration fees, uniform, equipment and transport, ensuring all children have access to sport and the great social, emotional and physical benefits that playing team sport provides.

As a Club we are proud to be involved and have purchased socks for entire teams to show our solidarity with the cause. We would dearly love to raise funds for this initiative and will be running a special raffle - one month’s Friday night access to the Presidents Carpark at Toorak Park!!

This raffle will be run both electronically and in person on training nights both this week and 18 July. To enter, click the link below. Who will take out the golden ticket to this PJFC valet experience?!

PJFC Merchandise 🧣

Some of you may have seen the brand new merchandise being modelled around the grounds. Brand new scarves, caps & beanies are now available along with selected training and off-field apparel. All will be on sale from the bar on a Friday. A very big thankyou to our band of Merchandise volunteers who continue to help so significantly each week.

If any questions or exchanges are required email merchandise@prahranjfc.com.au

Code of Conduct

Just a reminder for kids to be respectful and mindful of game day behaviours towards opposition players and umpires. End of term exhaustion has set in (for parents also), but please remind kids that they are all ambassadors for PJFC. Our code of conduct is available in the footer of our website if you need a refresher.

Snap Fitness EOFY Deal

Our awesome sponsor SNAP Fitness is hooking us up with a special EOFY deal — no sign-up or access fees when you join their soon to be newly upgraded gym! Kids 14+ can attend without adult supervision, so a great way for the kids to keep fit in the holidays.

They’re also selling some top-quality second-hand Technogym gear — think spin bikes, treadmills, and bench presses — perfect for your home workouts 🏋️♂️

Pop into Snap Fitness Armadale (724/728 High St) and chat with Gemma or Carla or slide into their Insta DMs to grab the deal! 🙌

Friendly Game

We are hosting a friendly game with Year 10 & 11 girls from Mater Dei College in Edgewater, WA. Girls from the Mater dei College Football Academy are visiting Melbourne for a footy trip and we are thrilled to sneak in a PJFC game into their schedule.

Sunday July 6th Toorak Park: 11am - combined U14/16/18 girls team vs Mater Dei College.

We are also hoping to find some volunteers from U16 up to act as runners and umpires.TM’s have reached out to teams but please fill in the form here if interested. We are aware many are away, but we’d love for those around to get involved.

Top 3 Pre-Game Stretches (needed this Friday! 🥶)

Getting the body moving before a game is key to preventing injury and optimising performance. Here are my top 3 stretches to activate key muscle groups and get players game-day ready:

1. Dynamic Leg Swings

Stand tall and swing one leg forward and backward in a controlled motion. Anchoring from the hip joint is key!

Why it works: Warms up the hamstrings and hip flexors while increasing range of motion.

2. Walking Lunges with a Twist

Step forward into a lunge, then gently rotate your torso toward your front leg.

Why it works: Activates glutes, quads, and core while waking up balance and coordination as you rotate.

3. Arm Circles & Shoulder Rolls

Large forward and backward circles with the arms, followed by shoulder shrugs and rolls.

Why it works: Loosens up the shoulders and upper back which is great for ball handling and tackling.

Pro Tip: Keep your pre-game stretches dynamic (moving), not static - this helps prime the muscles without over-lengthening them before activity.

Good luck for Round 9, for those that are around, and see you rested and ready for the 2nd half of the season!
