Date for the Diary: Presentation Day
The end of year presentations will occur on Sunday September 14 at Toorak Park.
This is Grand Final day, for hopefully some of our teams, so we will arrange the schedule to accommodate this.
This year, we are back at Toorak Park, so we have plenty of room for all teams to host their celebrations. The bar and BBQ will be in full force to bring our community together and round out a successful 2025 season. Make sure the day is in your calendar!
Annual PJFC Club Trophies are awarded at the end of each season and some of these awards are voted by our wider community. We will send out voting info shortly, but start thinking of people who are standing out in the club.
-
Peter Spargo Trophy- awarded to a person (traditionally an adult) within the Club, be they a volunteer coach or official for outstanding service to the Club and the community;
-
Jamie Gray Trophy- awarded to the person at the Club that best demonstrates good governance, commitment, communication and organisation
-
RH Minter Trophy- awarded to a person (usually a junior player) judged the best Junior Club person for their contribution to their team, other players/teams or representing the Club’s values; Development, Enjoyment, Sportsmanship, Inclusiveness, Respect and Encouragement
-
Sam McKay Trophy- awarded to the best & fairest player from the U18 girls team
-
Sir Rupert Steele Trophy- awarded to the best & fairest player from the U17.5 boys team
-

Auskick
This year saw a return to Toorak Park of our Auskick program, presented alongside our Toorak Park co-tenants Old Xavierians Football Club. This year saw a doubling of participation with over 200 children and their families enjoying the Saturday morning ritual of Auskick. This year we also staged the AFL’s pilot Superkick Program, an extension of Auskick providing a learning environment for those over the age of seven not yet playing Club football. As we wrap up the 2025 Auskick season we have around 30 budding Auskick graduates who are representing PJFC in the SMJFL’s pathway Under 7s program, which includes a 4 week carnival of matches. We look forward to welcoming many of those players to the Club next year.

A Reminder
As we approach finals, we understand emotions are heightened for both players and parents. For this reason, we remind everyone there are some rules and expectations to be across. To ensure all kids, volunteers, umpires and spectators enjoy the games, we do remind everyone to be respectful. Yelling or criticising umpires or players is not ok or tolerated, so if you do see this on any game day, we ask you to report it to your Team Manager at the time.

Important - Return of Match Jumpers
As teams conclude their season it is important to remember that all PJFC match jumpers are to be returned to your Team Manager at the end of your final match. Our TMs will manage the washing, cataloguing and returning to PJFC of each team’s set of match jumpers. Be sure to thank your TM very much for the washing part, especially for the teenage boy teams 😉
Please note, any unreturned jumper will incur a replacement charge of $90, billed to the individual.

PJFC Community
AFLW
Tonight, the AFLW season kicks off with a very special game for PJFC….Blues Vs Pies
Abbie McKay will be running onto the ground as Carlton Captain, alongside Sophie McKay who is making her debut. The McKay family have been a part of PJFC for many years and Soph is currently assistant coaching our U18 girls, whose team is named in her families honour! Both girls are fabulous ambassadors for women's sport and we wish them the best of luck.
Meanwhile, on Saturday at GMHBA, another member of our PJFC community is playing. Jackie Parry is part of the impressive forward line for the Cats and another past junior player. We have the largest number of girls playing in the history of our club and we are grateful for the very special past player role models. We wish Jackie the best for her first game for the season!
Herald Sun Shield
We have a number of our U18 girls representing Melbourne Girls Grammar in the Div 1 Snr final of the Herald Sun Shield next week. This is Victoria’s longest-running school football competition showcasing the top teams in the state and we are proud of our girls selected in the MGGS team - Hanna, Grace, Issy, Cleo B, Georgia, Chloe, Cleo McL & Edie.
MGGS Vs Caulfield Grammar - ETU Stadium - Tuesday 19th August at 9:30am
Goodluck!!
