Grading
Grading has now finished and teams are currently being allocated. While initial guidance was 1 April, due to issues with ground availability and a delay to final grading games, teams will now be released by Friday 4 April.
The Grading Process:
The grading process is designed to assess footy skills and footy IQ.
Training sessions are the most important to attend as game simulation drills are utilised. Training allows the isolation of skills and translates this skill into footy intelligence, the core of grading. Training gives the grading panel background on the kids to take into the game. They will be placed in game positions accordingly.
Grading Games are a chance for the coaching crew to see where kids are best suited for their personal development. It may be that a child needs to build confidence, so this is assessed in a game and factored into team allocation.
Grading games are not compulsory. As training is where the majority of grading occurs, please do not worry if you are unable to make the game.
